Milford City Council authorized the mayor to execute an agricultural lease with Howard Webb to allow cultivation of approximately 19.4 acres of the Sharp property through Dec. 31, 2025.
Rob Pierce, planning staff, explained the city previously executed an agricultural lease with Mr. Webb in December 2021 and later issued a lease termination notice in August 2023 in anticipation of construction activity. Because construction has not yet begun, staff recommended re-entering a lease to allow agricultural use while the city continues site design.
The recorded agreement in the council packet specifies a nine-month payment of $300 (as described in the packet) for the remainder of the 2025 calendar year. Pierce said the lease benefits the city by ensuring the land is maintained until construction commences.
Council approved the authorization without recorded opposition.
