Another vendor, Ricoh (RICOH IT Services), proposed a different pricing package that would include onboarding fees (about $13,200) and a higher monthly recurring fee (the proposal showed monthly totals such as $8,650 depending on included services).
Council members stressed the importance of cybersecurity after hearing national examples of infrastructure attacks; one councilor noted the potential for high ransom or recovery costs if critical systems are compromised. Administration said it would dive into differences between the lower and higher cybersecurity tiers, clarify what each package provides and return an analysis and recommendation to the council for a future meeting.
No final vendor award was made at the meeting; staff will assemble a comparative packet including the scope of services, costs and cybersecurity coverage for council consideration.
