Platte County Commission approves three rezoning requests to bring parcels into conformance

The Platte County Commission on June 2 approved three separate rezoning requests intended to bring properties into conformance with county zoning standards and to allow new building setbacks.
Daniel Erickson, planning and zoning director, presented the items. He said each request had been recommended for approval by the Planning and Zoning Commission and by staff; for one petition he noted the planning commission’s vote was “10 to 0.”
The first, 2025CO069, would rezone about 25 acres owned by Davidson Living Trust from AG (agricultural) to RE to allow appropriate setbacks for a planned building. The second, 2025CO070, would rezone a 16-acre property at 22230 Highway 92 owned by Hunter and Allison Hancock from AG to RE for the same reason: to reduce required setbacks to enable a building. The third, 2025CO071, would rezone a 3.16-acre parcel from R-25 to R-15 in southern Platte County near K Highway to allow subdivision into two lots; Erickson said the change aligns with the county land-use plan and that the planning commission recommended approval.
All three motions were moved, seconded and approved on record by the commission with recorded tallies of 2-0. No public comment or substantive opposition was recorded during these agenda items.
