Ashland commissioners approve agenda, minutes and recess meeting for Great Race

The Ashland Board of City Commissioners on June 26, 2005 voted to receive and file the meeting agenda, approved the minutes from May 22, 2005 and recessed the meeting until 4 p.m. so commissioners could attend the Great Race downtown.
The presiding official said the Great Race was “a huge event for the city” and asked for a motion to recess the meeting to allow commissioners to attend and support the downtown event. A motion was made and seconded; the board recessed the meeting by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
Earlier in the session the board made a motion to receive and file the agenda as presented and subsequently moved to approve the minutes of the May 22 meeting. Those motions were seconded and carried on voice votes with members saying “aye.”
The meeting was recessed to 4 p.m., to reconvene in the same place and via the same channel, to permit commissioners’ participation in the event.
