William Penn announces free summer meals at three sites June 30–July 31

At the June 23 William Penn School District meeting, the superintendent announced the district’s free summer meals schedule and encouraged families to use the program.
The district listed three sites operating June 30 through July 31: Park Lake Elementary (breakfast 8 to 9 a.m.; lunch at 12:01 p.m.), Olive Elementary (breakfast 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.; lunch 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and Pilgrim High School on Green Avenue (breakfast 8 to 9 a.m.; lunch 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.). The superintendent also noted student registration continues through the summer and provided a link on the district website for more information.
Why it matters: Free summer meals provide nutrition support to students when school is not in session and are a routine district service; the board asked the community to spread the word about site locations and hours.
