Trustees approved a recurring administrative authorization that allows the district to preserve eligible year-end funds under recent statutory authority for interlocal and multi-district agreements.
Administration told the board the procedure applies mainly to the general fund and enables the district to retain end-of-year balances in the interlocal/grant and multi-district accounts rather than letting them lapse. Staff described the authority as a relatively recent statutory change that permits districts to preserve funds for future, more thoughtful spending.
Trustee Hayes moved to approve the multi-district year-end funding authorization for elementary accounts; Trustee Walsh seconded. Trustees then approved the corresponding authorization for secondary schools with Trustee Wake moving and Trustee Hayes seconding. Both votes carried with no public comment.
