Board renews three‑year, nominal leases for Missoula Education Foundation and Spark Arts

The Missoula Education Foundation’s lease carries a “nominal” fee described by staff as “like $10 a year, or a dollar a year.” Trustee Walsh moved to approve the Missoula Education Foundation lease; Trustee Witt seconded and trustees approved the renewal.
The board also approved a similar renewal for Spark Arts Ignite (the Spark Arts program), which the administration linked to recent local arts-integration work, including the Arts Integration Conference at the University of Montana and the district’s Arts Ignite event. Trustee Wake moved to approve the Spark Arts lease; Trustee Hayes seconded and the board voted to renew the arrangement. Staff said both organizations provide services that benefit MCPS students and that the short termination clause preserves district flexibility.
No public comment was recorded on either lease item. Staff said the organizations’ work is closely aligned with district programming and emphasized the administrative convenience and low cost of the arrangements.
