Arlington Community Schools named a NAMM Best Community for Music Education for sixth consecutive year

Arlington Community Schools was recognized by the NAMM Foundation as one of the nation's Best Communities for Music Education for the sixth consecutive year, district leaders said at the board meeting.
Nick Everwater, vice president of AMRO Music and representative of the National Association of Music Merchants, spoke to the board and presented framed awards for display at schools. He noted fewer than 5% of U.S. school districts receive the designation and said factors include accessibility of music programs, age of student entry into music, program variety and community support.
Superintendent Dr. Clark thanked the board for supporting music programs with funding and resources. Board members applauded the district's fine arts staff and educators by name in the remarks, and the district said it will place the framed recognitions in school spaces such as the high school auditorium and band room.
No board action was required; the presentation served as community recognition of ongoing investment in music education.
