The superintendent summarized personnel actions: assignment of Yolita Ricks as a custodian systemwide assigned to Muscle Shoals High School; a reassignment of Bridal Ray Underwood (Child Nutrition Program staff) from the high school to McBride Middle School; four employees added for additional blocks of instruction for the 2025–26 school year in health, driver's education, welding and health science (Chad Willis, Zach Myers, Jacob Ayers and Jolene Brett Wolf); and the addition of Carrie Johnson to the summer-school staff to be paid from high-school summer-school funds.
Dr. Holden also delivered a superintendent's report noting heat alerts from EMA and expressing condolences for two recently deceased community members who had long ties to the district. He said recognition for student Natalie McCabe took place recently with U.S. Rep. Aderholt attending. On staffing at the high school, Dr. Holden said current principal Kevin Davis is still completing contract matters with Opelika and that the district's timeline anticipates any resignation being settled by June 30 so the board could accept a resignation and potentially appoint a new high-school principal effective July 1.
