Council approves final plat for Eastern Ridge Estates Phase 2, connecting Phase 1 to Highway K

The Fond du Lac City Council on June 25 unanimously approved a resolution accepting the final plat for Eastern Ridge Estates Phase 2, a residential subdivision that will extend the existing Eastern Ridge development to Highway K.
Community Development Director Diane Benson explained the platting process and state oversight. "If you divide the land beyond, I believe it's [a statutory threshold] governed by the state statute, you have to do a plat," Benson said, describing the two‑step process of preliminary plat review by planning and engineering followed by final plat recording that creates the individual lots.
Benson told council members the phase is a continuation of Eastern Ridge Phase 1 and will connect the previous phase to Highway K; both the plan commission and city staff recommended approval with the technical conditions listed in the resolution. During the council vote, members recorded a unanimous approval following a motion and second.
Action taken: the council adopted Resolution 9190 (final plat of Eastern Ridge Estates Phase 2). The motion was made by Mr. Mullen and seconded by Mr. Zimmerman; the motion passed unanimously.
No substantive amendments were made to the technical conditions during the meeting. Staff said the final plat will be recorded and the new lots created once remaining administrative items are completed.
