District to offer free summer meals at Sand Creek; extended‑year plans for Forest Park underway

Superintendent Christopher Perry announced that South Colonie will offer free summer meals at Sand Creek Middle School starting July 7 and running through Aug. 22.
Perry said breakfast will be served from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Monday through Thursday and lunch will be served from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Meals must be eaten on site; Perry said all students in the district may attend and no identification is required.
Perry also said the district is working to obtain approval for an extended school year program at Forest Park so that students who qualify for extended‑year services will have access directly at that building. He thanked the food services staff for arranging the summer meals.
Board members asked no substantive questions; the announcements were informational and no formal board votes were required.
