South Colonie Hall of Fame inducts three alumni at Class of 2025 commencement

The South Colonie Central School District inducted three alumni into its Hall of Fame during the Class of 2025 commencement program: Jennifer Hendrix Fogg (Class of 1994), Tristan Jarvis (Class of 2014) and John Lizzie (Class of 1997). Each inductee received remarks noting community service, artistic achievement and technological innovation.

Jennifer Hendrix Fogg, introduced as a "humanitarian and service" honoree and founder of the Logan Strong Foundation, spoke about resilience after her family's experience with her son's illness and told graduates, "You don't have to have it all figured out. Keep showing up. Be open to change. Be open to growth." The program noted detailed biographies for inductees were included in the printed commencement insert and would be posted to the district website.

Tristan Jarvis was recognized for his contributions to the performing arts; in remarks he thanked music educators by name and described his induction as "so surreal," calling out a long list of music teachers who influenced his career. John Lizzie, introduced for achievements in robotics and artificial intelligence at GE Research, offered three concise pieces of advice to graduates, urging them to "do hard things," to surround themselves with strong people and to spend time in reflection. Lizzie also acknowledged the role of faith and reflection in his own career.

The district presented the Hall of Fame inductions as part of the commencement program and said biographies and additional background on the inductees would remain available on the district website over the summer. The inductees' introductions in the program included class years and role summaries supplied by the district; the ceremony did not include formal nominations or votes on stage.
