Brookmeade group seeks to transfer donated funds to disc-golf nonprofit for course maintenance

"We donated almost $5,000 to Open Space and Greenways 501(c)(3), and we are putting an official request in to transfer that money to the Music City Disc Golf 501(c)(3) for their maintenance," Bird said, noting the maintenance task is substantial and requires regular volunteer effort.
Cindy Harrison clarified the current handling of donor funds: donations to the department's Greenways fund go first to the nonprofit partner Greenways for Nashville and then are routed to the parks board as appropriate. Bird said she had discussed the transfer informally with department staff and intends to submit a formal request so the funds may be used for course upkeep.
No formal vote or action was taken during the meeting; the item was raised as a public comment and placed on staff's radar.
