HURON — The Huron City Council on June 24 set two public hearings for 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12: one for a rezoning application from OJD Holdings LLC for several River Road parcels and one for a general development concept plan for the ConAgra parcel.

Council member Mr. Tarantino moved to set the public hearing for OJD Holdings LLC to consider rezoning vacant property on River Road (Erie County parcel numbers 42-01720, 42-01720.001 and 42-01719) from its current industrial classification to B-3 General Business; the council approved the motion by roll call.

Separately, Mr. Artino moved to set a public hearing for Aug. 12 under Section 1139.06 to consider a general development concept plan for the ConAgra parcel (PPN given in the record). City staff said the planning commission held a second public hearing on June 18 to review landscaping, lighting, green space and elevations for the ConAgra plan and recommended approval to council.

The public hearings will precede the regular council meeting on Aug. 12; after the hearings council will have the opportunity to vote on each matter. Notices and materials will be posted per normal planning and zoning procedures.
