Twinsburg City Council on June 24 adopted Ordinance 58-20-25, returning the maximum number of days a temporary yard sign may remain in the city from 120 days back to 40 days.
The change was recommended unanimously by the Planning Commission and was presented to council during committee reports. Council member Gary Furey said the 120-day allowance had been introduced at some prior code update “arbitrarily” and that 40 days is “long enough for a temporary sign.”
Council members voted 7–0 to adopt the ordinance. The motion to adopt was made during the meeting and seconded by Council Member Walker; the roll call recorded seven yes votes and no opposition.
The Planning Commission had discussed the amendment as part of an overall review of Chapter 11.16 (Signs) of the codified ordinances; commissioners also reviewed other temporary sign rules before forwarding the change to council. The council’s action restores the city’s prior temporary‑sign time limit rather than leaving the longer period that had been in the code.
The transcript does not specify an effective date for the ordinance.
