The Santa Rita Union Elementary Board on Friday approved the district’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) for the 2025–26 school year and adopted the first draft of the 2025–26 budget, actions required under state education code.

Superintendent Dr. Smith thanked staff and community members for input on the LCAP and said the public hearing held earlier satisfied the process requirements. The board then moved to adopt the LCAP by motion; the roll-call vote was recorded as 4–0 in favor.

On the budget, staff reminded the board that the document on the district website had been available for public inspection since June 6 and that this adoption represents the first draft required by the Education Code. Staff emphasized the draft was not final and would be updated as new information becomes available. The board approved the first draft by roll-call vote, 4–0.

Board members asked staff to continue refining budget details and to return with updates. The superintendent and chief business officer noted the district office closure and payroll logistics (payday noted as Monday, June 30) as items in recent operational updates.
