Flagler County Education Foundation highlights Stuff the Bus, summer programs and upcoming planning

Teresa Rizzo, speaking for the Flagler County Education Foundation, told the Flagler County School Board on June 24 that the foundation’s summer season is active with community programs and planning.
Rizzo said the foundation’s Stuff the Bus supply drive is making stops across the community and noted a volunteer backpack-stuffing day scheduled for July 23 to prepare about 2,000 starter backpacks for distribution at a back-to-school event. She said the foundation’s board will hold a strategic-planning session on July 14 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to refresh goals and outcomes for the 2025–26 school year.
Rizzo also described the foundation’s Great Minds summer camp at Carver Gym, which provides free activities and community cultural exposure; she noted an outing to Flagler Beach and collaboration with local arts organizations. Rizzo asked the public to follow the foundation’s website and social media for dates and volunteer sign-ups, and she extended thoughts to Flagler Schools graduates serving in the Middle East and wished the community a safe Fourth of July.
Superintendent Lashaka Moore and board members acknowledged the foundation’s work during the meeting. No board action was required for the foundation’s presentation.
