Committee pauses on directing HCDC to lead strategic housing plan, will await council update

Members agreed to place the issue as the first item at the next Referrals Committee meeting so they could make a more informed decision after the staff briefing. No motion to refer HCDC as the lead was adopted at this meeting.
The decision preserves staff’s existing process and ensures the committee considers the staff-provided timeline and scope before taking further action.
