The Fond du Lac City Council unanimously approved the final plat for Eastern Ridge Estates Phase 2 on June 25, allowing the development to be recorded and its lots created under the state’s platting process.
Community Development Director Diane Benson explained that the final plat process follows state statute requirements: preliminary plats are reviewed by planning and engineering and, once the final plat meets the conditions, it is recorded and the lots are created. Benson said Phase 2 continues the existing Eastern Ridge development and will connect the earlier phase to Highway K; both the Plan Commission and staff recommended approval subject to the resolution's technical conditions.
The motion by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Zimmerman, passed unanimously. The council asked no substantive questions during the item; roll-call voting confirmed the unanimous approval.
The approval clears a procedural step required to record the subdivision and move forward with creating the new lots and public improvements as specified in the final plat and accompanying conditions.
