The Fond du Lac City Council unanimously authorized a temporary waiver of the city's prohibition on alcoholic beverages on public ways for Fondue Fest, scheduled Sept. 6, 2025, on a portion of Division Street.
City Clerk Emily Hefter said the waiver covers Division Street between Main and Macy streets from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sept. 6. The resolution requires that no glass containers or carry-ins be permitted in the designated area, that the applicant post signage indicating the event boundary, and that event staff monitor compliance. City staff reviewed and recommended approval of the special-event application.
The motion to approve was made by Alderperson Schisler and seconded by Alderperson Leering; the council voted unanimously. No public speakers came forward, and council members raised no additional conditions beyond the staff recommendations.
The waiver allows controlled alcohol possession in the event footprint under the conditions set by city staff and the resolution.
