Labor council urges board to place collective bargaining resolution on August agenda

She asked the board to "put the resolution for collective bargaining agreement on the agenda for the August planning meeting so that it can be voted on at the action meeting." She added, "We are not taking sides with one union or another. We are taking the side of the teachers and the staff to say who will represent them."
Chair Murphy closed the public-comment period after Beasley's remarks. The board did not take immediate action on the request during the June 23 meeting; Beasley said she had sent the board a letter with contact information and that her earlier emails and phone calls had gone unanswered.
