Council approves 10‑year lease with Aloft Aero Architects and welcomes new Aloft Academy workforce program

Sussex County Council voted to approve a lease with Pat’s Aircraft LLC, doing business as Aloft Aero Architects, for Lot 24 in the Delaware Coastal Business Park (21583 Baltimore Avenue, Georgetown). The county’s economic development manager presented the lease and said the tenant will continue to provide design and engineering services and to manufacture component parts for the aviation industry in the building.
Economic development staff said the lease term is approximately five years with a five‑year extension option (roughly 10 years in total). The tenant will also house the newly launched Aloft Academy at the site, a workforce development initiative in which enrolled students become full‑time, paid employees on their first day and receive hands‑on technical training and tools that they keep after two years of employment with Aloft.
Council unanimously approved the lease. Council did not attach conditions during the vote and did not request further public comment; staff will proceed to finalize the lease documents.
