Council approves FAA grant application and construction administration contract for airport taxi lanes and parallel taxiway work

Bryant said the program supplies annual appropriations available to the Delaware Coastal Airport under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act program and that the taxi lanes could be used for tie‑downs initially and later for privately built hangars as demand grows.
Separately, council approved Delta Airport Consultants’ Task Order 6 for $375,000 for construction administration services for Parallel Taxiway B, Phase 3 construction. Bryant explained the FAA requires an independent fee estimate for construction‑phase services; the county obtained an independent estimate (MRB Group) and Delta’s fee fell within the FAA’s acceptable variance, so council approved Delta’s task order.
Both motions carried on recorded votes; council members asked no substantive questions before voting.
