County sets public hearing for vacation of a portion of Tenth Street; hearing notice to run under statute

Oklahoma County commissioners on June 24 set a public hearing for Aug. 20, 2025, on a request to vacate a section line known locally as Tenth Street between Robinson and Harvey, county staff said.
County staff explained the strip to be vacated follows an original section line that is now partly occupied by an alley and several buildings and that an alternate Tenth Street exists to the south. "This is a request to vacate this section line known as Tenth Street, between Robinson and Harvey," the staff presenter said, noting that notices will be published "according to statute."
Commissioner Lowe confirmed the property lies in his district and the board voted to set the hearing date. Staff recommended Aug. 20 for the hearing and said the county would run the required public notices in newspapers before that date.
The board did not take final action to vacate the right of way at the June 24 meeting; the hearing is a procedural step required by state law before the board can decide on the vacation request.
