City project manager reports limited progress on Well No. 8; elevator tank and street work on schedule

Matthew Julian, the city’s project manager, updated the Navasota City Council on June 23 on several capital improvement projects, saying Water Well No. 8 has had no progress since the last meeting because the pump has not yet been set.
Julian said contractors are scheduled to begin construction of the elevator storage tank steel on Wednesday and that staff expect the tank to be completed on schedule in October. He also reported the 2025 Street Maintenance Project has begun: a pre-construction meeting was held and crews will be in town in the coming weeks, with door tags to be distributed to notify residents to keep vehicles off streets during work.
Council asked about trimming low tree limbs on streets slated for work; Julian said the street and sanitation departments will handle trimming and some drainage issues before contractors arrive. Julian also said the Rosie Street Bridge has a design issue under review by TxDOT and the project engineer, and staff will provide an update to council.
