Summary
The City Council approved Change Order No. 1 to add five cemetery roadways to the fiscal 2025 street maintenance project, contracting BPI LLC for $75,883.80, with staff clarifying budgeted funds cover the work.
The Navasota City Council on June 23 approved Change Order No. 1 to add reconstruction of five cemetery roadways to the fiscal 2025 street maintenance project, awarding the work to BPI LLC for $75,883.80.
City staff told the council the money for the cemetery roadways was already allocated in the 2025 budget and that adding the streets to the existing contract allowed the city to take advantage of the contractor’s rates, Assistant Public Works Director Jose Coronilla said.
Coronilla explained the work will reconstruct five segments of cemetery roadways using a stabilized base and two inches of hot-mix asphalt. Councilmember Mariano moved to approve the change order; the motion carried after an affirmative voice vote.
The motion included a clarification about two different notations of the dollar amount in the agenda materials; staff confirmed the correct total as $75,883.80 before the vote. The item was approved with no recorded opposition.
