The Municipal Code Enforcement Board set an Aug. 27 compliance deadline for repairs and cleaning at 201 South Pegasus Avenue and authorized a $150 per‑day fine for each continuing violation if the owner does not comply.
Inspector John Stevens told the board the case involved two violations under the city's maintenance code: failure to clean exterior surfaces that showed mildew and algae, and roof maintenance that included tarps, debris and loose materials. Stevens said the code violations date to notices sent in August of the previous year, and that no building permits for roof repair had been filed as of the hearing.
Property owner Jeremiah King, who told the board he inherited the house and has been arranging repairs while an elderly tenant remains in place, said he has a painter scheduled to pressure‑wash and paint the house and has been negotiating with roofers; he told the board one roofer said work could start four to five weeks after signing. King asked for additional time and said he would keep Inspector Stevens updated.
After discussion, and with board members expressing interest in a progress update, the board extended the compliance date to Aug. 27 and approved the staff recommendation authorizing the $150 daily fine for each continuing violation. The board noted the owner should keep the inspector informed of permit applications and contractor schedules.
The board recorded a motion to enter the order and approved it by voice vote.
