County seeks additional right-of-way for Jones Road culvert replacement

Jeff Soderquist, public works director, briefed the board on the Jones Road project and noted the county is proposing acquisition of additional right-of-way for the culvert replacement. "This is Jones Road Centralia, culvert that failed during a storm a couple years ago and acquiring additional, right of way for the replacement of that water crossing," Soderquist said.
The proposal was included in deliberation items approved by the board; the package passed by voice vote, 2-0.
Why it matters: replacing a failed culvert restores a public roadway crossing and can affect access for residents and emergency services; acquiring right-of-way is a necessary step in constructing the replacement crossing.
