The Montgomery County Council voted unanimously to approve two supplemental appropriations for Montgomery County Public Schools on a pair of motions with no public comment.
The first motion approved supplemental appropriation 205-84 to the FY 2025 capital budget for MCPS technology modernization in the amount of approximately $1,400,000. The second motion approved supplemental appropriation 25-87 to the FY 2025 operating budget for an MCPS Urban Agriculture Water and Power Infrastructure grant in the amount of $122,000; the source of funds was identified in the meeting as a state grant.
Both items were taken after brief public-hearing announcements that recorded no registered speakers and closed the hearing. Council Vice President Giwando moved both motions; Council Member Balcom seconded the first motion and Council Member Lukey seconded the second motion. Each vote was called by voice/hand and recorded as unanimous.
These appropriations were announced in the Council’s regular agenda and approved at the same meeting where staff presented the Board of Health biannual update.
