Resident presses council on parking, asks for update on event center by Port of Anacortes site

Gardner said the current community event venue is the Seafar/Seafair Park event center, used for meetings from November to March and able to accommodate about 200 people, and that finding a local permanent event venue is increasingly costly.
Mayor Miller replied the city is working with the Port of Anacortes on moving forward with an event center at the referenced location and encouraged Gardner to attend Port meetings as well because both entities are coordinating on the project. No formal action or timeline was provided at the meeting.
