At its June 25 meeting the Green Bay Police and Fire Commission convened in closed session under Wisconsin Statutes section 19.85(1)(c) and (f) to interview six firefighter candidates.
The commission began with a roll call noting Commissioners Dorf and Goldhahn were present in the room and Commissioner Lauchs participating by Zoom. Commissioners Will Roloff and Cobb joined later in the meeting. The commission approved the meeting agenda before moving into closed session on a motion by Commissioner Laux, seconded by Commissioner Dorf; the motion carried with no recorded opposition.
During the closed session the commission interviewed six candidates and scored those applicants. The commission stated it would combine those scores with additional interviews scheduled for next week rather than making final hiring decisions at this meeting. After the closed session the commission voted to approve the report summarizing the interviews and scores. The motion to approve the report was made by Commissioner Khan and seconded by Commissioner Doer; commissioners voted in favor.
The meeting concluded after the commission voted to adjourn. No appointment, hire, or employment offer was announced during the public portion of the meeting. The commission indicated further interviews are planned next week and that final candidate rankings — based on combined scores — will be developed after those sessions.
