Council approves update to mayor-and-council protocol manual after yearlong committee review

The Yelm City Council approved Resolution 659 on June 24 to update the Mayor and City Council Protocol Manual after a review that began in June 2024.
Kathy (city staff) told the council the General Government Committee had reviewed the manual chapter by chapter, updated out-of-date language and presented a tracked changes and a clean version online. Committee Chair Council Member Kingizer said the review was thorough and would help with transitions after future elections.
Council Member Crossman moved to adopt Resolution 659; Council Member Johnson seconded the motion. The council approved the resolution by voice vote.
Kathy said printed copies of the updated manual would be available for council members in the coming week.
