Resident urges Mason County to move ETS truck, step up city-county coordination on RV camps

A Mason County resident told commissioners June 24 that an ETS truck parked downtown should be removed and that county staff should step up coordination with the City of Shelton on expanding RV camps and sidewalk encampments.
"That truck needs to be moved," Dean Jew said during the meeting's public comment period. "It needs to be gone." Jew urged the county manager and department heads to act and suggested moving the truck to a professional medical-area location away from downtown.
Jew also said cleanup at Brewer Park has pushed people onto sidewalks and into county areas, creating new enforcement and public-safety concerns. He referenced Daniels Road in the Agate area as a site of growing RV encampments and said residents have sought help for at least a year. Jew mentioned a recent death of an infant in that area and said there are Environmental Protection Agency concerns; he asked what steps would be required to "start filing the paperwork" to address those sites.
Separately, Jew said he had filed a public-records request about roughly $70,000 in funding that had been provided to Community Lifeline for sprinkler infrastructure and said he wants that money returned to taxpayers "especially if it was tied to the grant" should the property be sold.
Commissioners did not take action during the meeting on the specific requests; the remarks were recorded as part of public comment. No staff commitments or motions to change policy were recorded in response to the commentary.
