The South Central Regional Transit District board approved the agency’s fixed-asset inventory report, which lists $11,199,918.25 in capital assets including vehicles, facilities and land, staff reported.
Adam (finance director) explained the inventory shows years of purchases and disposals and highlighted that 2025 had the largest influx of vehicles the district has ever received. He said older vehicles had been disposed of after they were fully depreciated and that the disposals and inventory will be coordinated with state and federal reviewers as required for audits and grant closeout.
Board members asked how disposed vehicles affect taxes and insurance. Adam said there is no tax impact because the district is a government agency and that the disposals are reported through the annual audit. Commissioner Sanchez asked whether the increase in assets affected the district’s self-insurance pool; staff confirmed that a larger asset base and newer vehicles contributed to higher insurance premiums.
Councilor Flores moved to approve the inventory report and Mayor Hernandez seconded. A roll-call vote approved the resolution.
