Committee forwards Exceptional Children service agreements to full board for approval

The Union County Public Schools Curriculum Committee voted to forward service agreements for the Exceptional Children (EC) department to the full school board after staff described the contracts as continuity of existing contracted services.
Sarah Staley, Assistant Director for Exceptional Children, told the committee the agreements fund contracted services that the district's EC employees cannot provide. Staley said the contracts are with providers the district has used in the past and that the services are consistent with prior years.
Committee members moved and seconded sending the EC service agreements to the full board for approval; the committee voted in favor during the meeting. No contract dollar amounts or provider names were discussed aloud during the portion of the meeting captured by the transcript.
The committee also noted it will not meet in July and that the August meeting date is to be determined.
