UCPS committee approves sole-source Pathful pilot for Career and Technical Education courses

Brian Davis, Director of Career and Technical Education, told the committee Pathful provides career-exploration activities, real-world scenarios and project-based tasks developed with industry partners. Davis said the district plans to purchase the work-based learning component to allow high-school CTE teachers and students to work on industry-related projects; staff described the purchase as a supplemental resource that could expand if the pilot is successful.
Committee members moved and seconded sending the sole-source purchase to the full board for approval. The committee did not discuss the dollar amount of the purchase in the presented portion of the meeting.
If approved by the full board, staff said Pathful would be implemented primarily in high school CTE courses next school year.
