She requested explanations for a $65,000 entry related to deductibles and legal expenses, the $18,000 allocation listed for Historic City Hall maintenance, and changes tied to the red-light camera program after the city experienced several months of inoperable cameras. She also asked for detail on temporary code‑compliance staffing that had used vacancy savings and sought clarification on $132,000 identified for municipal complex security services and repairs that appeared to be funded from finance‑department vacancy savings.
Commissioners discussed the red‑light camera program’s intermittent operability and the city’s efforts to work with the provider and Miami‑Dade County to restore full service. The interim city manager said staff would provide the detailed line‑item backup requested by the vice mayor and would include specific breakdowns in the next materials.
The item advanced on first reading; staff said they would supply commissioners with the line‑by‑line explanations and supporting documentation before the subsequent hearing.
