Scottsdale City Council on Tuesday adopted the fiscal 2025‑26 property tax levies and rates and approved the municipal streetlight improvement district levy for the coming year.
City Treasurer Sonia Andrews presented the proposed combined property tax rate of 91.2 cents per $100 of assessed value — a 2.1% decrease from the prior year. The combined rate comprises a primary rate of 48.9¢ (generating roughly $40 million for the general fund and tort claims) and a secondary rate of 42.3¢ (generating roughly $35 million for voter‑approved bond debt service).
Treasurer Andrews said the slight rate decrease, combined with an anticipated ~2% increase in median assessed values, would result in a net, modest change for most property owners. She also noted that Scottsdale’s combined rate remains one of the lowest compared with peer cities in the region.
Council unanimously adopted Ordinance No. 4672 to set the primary and secondary levies. Separately, the council adopted Ordinance No. 4673 to levy $578,426 for the municipal streetlight improvement district, an average levy per lot of approximately $17.03.
Councilmembers praised the finance team for the presentation and moved promptly through the votes; there were no substantive amendments during the meeting.
