The Town of Templeton Planning Board voted to maintain its current slate of officers and discussed strategies for filling two vacant seats and short-term membership gaps.
At the meeting, a board member moved to keep the existing officers; another member seconded, and the motion carried. Planning staff said they would follow up with a resident who had expressed interest, and that volunteer forms are available through the town clerk for submission to the select board for appointment.
Planning board members noted the difficulty of sustaining volunteer boards. One member cited long-serving former planning board member Frank Machetti for his years of service and urged community members to run for elected seats or volunteer. Staff recommended placing member-recruitment as a recurring item on future agendas and offering the town’s volunteer form to interested residents for consideration by the select board.
The board also approved minutes from the June 10 meeting and set July 8 as the next meeting date for continuing agenda items and follow-up on recruitment.
