County approves MOU with Crossroads Engineers for Bridge 605 repairs and inspection

Daniel Johnston, Johnson County highway engineer, asked the Board of Commissioners on June 23 to approve execution of a memorandum of understanding with Crossroads Engineers covering repairs and inspection responsibilities for Bridge 605.
Johnston said the bridge is on the west side of the intersection of State Road 135 and Fry Road and that it was reconstructed last summer. He told commissioners Crossroads will pay an invoice of $58,000 for the repairs and a not-to-exceed $10,000 for engineering work performed by the county's inspection consultant, BFNS.
"That's correct. For both the actual repairs done and then also the engineering analysis that our bridge inspection consultant, BFNS, had to do," Johnston said, describing the two payments by Crossroads. The board moved, seconded and approved the MOU by voice vote.
The item was presented "pending legal" review on the agenda but was brought forward for execution at the meeting; a recorded motion and second were made and the motion carried. No amendments or alternate funding sources were recorded during the discussion.
