Judge Snedeker thanked the mayor and council for the reappointment and credited court staff for the work that supports the court’s operations. “I don’t do this alone. I’ve got Barry McElveen, Teresa Moyers, and Paige Stabler who do all the hard work. They really do,” Snedeker said. He described the local bench as a “close knit group” and said judges keep one another “in line” while trying to serve the people of the city and county.
Snedeker also described the court’s evolving orientation toward counseling and problem‑solving approaches. “We become more, unfortunately, or fortunately, more like drug courts and counseling, and we try to get people help,” he said.
The council recorded no objections during the vote and the mayor announced the motion passed before the swearing‑in proceeded.
