The Wausau Board of Public Works on June 24 approved awarding the 2025 DPW overhead door-replacement work to American Door Company of Wausau and directed staff to work with the contractor to replace as many doors as the budget allows.
The decision followed an open-bid process for four doors. Two bids were submitted: American Door Company, $49,320; and Central Door Solutions, $49,769. The board approved a motion to accept American Door Company’s bid and to coordinate the number of doors replaced within the available budget.
Board members discussed whether to bring the item back for further review or approve the lower bid and adjust the scope to fit the appropriation. The motion to approve American Door Company and to work with them on the number of doors funded this year was moved and seconded and carried on an aye vote.
Staff will work with American Door Company of Wausau to determine the final scope to match the department’s budget for 2025.
