LaSalle County detention home reports $14,528.68 in monthly bills, population averages and semiannual totals

Jake, detention home staff, presented the monthly and semiannual financial reports and population counts to the LaSalle County Law and Justice Committee.

The reports provide a snapshot of facility operating costs, reimbursement and outside revenue that affect county juvenile detention budgeting and inter-county billing.

For the month, Jake reported billed expenses of $11,717.45 and prepaid amounts of $2,807.23 for total monthly bills of $14,528.68. He said the average daily population for the month was six and that the facility’s population on the meeting day was eight. He listed inter-county child boarding and revenue items, including $450 billed to Bureau County and $1,500 in total billed to other jurisdictions; state and federal revenue lines included $16,668 from the State Board of Education, $1,160.68 in state federal food subsidy and $137,684.12 in state salary reimbursement. Jake reported interest income of $11,726.32 and total income of $167,239.12.

When the committee considered the semiannual report, Jake said income realized to date was $636,661.78 and the budget balance to date was $1,210,281.55; he reported an average daily population of 4.45 for the semiannual period.

Committee members moved to approve the monthly and semiannual reports. The monthly report motion was moved by Haudenshire and seconded by Mike McEmory; the semiannual approval was moved by Ray Gatsa and seconded by Walter Roach. In both instances the chair called for the ayes and recorded "Motion carried."
