Jun Son, project manager for Community Development, told the Apopka Development Review Committee on June 25 that an applicant has requested a future land use amendment for a 0.27‑acre property at 155 MA Board to permit mixed‑use downtown zoning and increase allowable density from 10 to 15 dwelling units per acre.
Jun Son said the property is vacant and located within the mixed‑use downtown zoning area, and that the proposed future land use would be consistent with existing downtown zoning. "The mixed use future land use is the corresponding future land use with the mixed use downtown zoning," Jun Son said.
The applicant was not in attendance at the DRC meeting. Community Development, Police, Public Works, Fire and Building staff reported no comments in the record for the DRC review. The item was presented for review; no DRC motions or votes were recorded in the transcript.
Because the parcel is within the downtown mixed‑use zone, staff described the requested change as consistent with the area’s intended land‑use pattern. The record shows the matter will proceed through the city’s standard review and approval steps; no additional dates or Council actions were recorded in the transcript.
