Monroe Local recognizes strong 2025 graduating class and breakout track season

Administrators and coaches recognized graduating students and the district’s track and field athletes at the June 23 Monroe Local Schools Board meeting.
Missus Hagedorn reported that "for the class of 2025, Monroe did graduate every single student except for one, and that's because they moved out of the district." She credited teachers, support staff and administration for the outcome.
The board also heard from coach Fielder, who praised a young roster that he said is predominantly underclassmen and listed several regional qualifiers and record breakers: freshman Layton Parnsell finished fifth in the region in the high jump; a 4x400 relay and multiple individuals advanced to regional competition; and athletes Priscilla Martin Martinez, Mia Dolby, Sierra Stacy and Addie Beevac were among those who broke school records this season.
"They're all underclassmen," coach Fielder said. "So it looks really bright for our program." He credited assistant coaches Jamie Wilcox, Stacy Williams, Dwayne Terry, Gary Clemens and Ronnie Dawn for their roles in the season's progress.
Why it matters: A high graduation rate and a deep pool of younger athletes set expectations for continued academic and athletic performance in coming years.
What’s next: The board recognized the athletes and coaches during the meeting and will include the acknowledgment in district communications about student achievement.
