The Community Education Council District 25 approved the appointment of Egypt Christoval to the council administrative assistant position and made a small budget reallocation to buy equipment for the new hire.
At the start of its business meeting the council read and voted on a resolution appointing Egypt Christoval as administrative assistant with an annual salary of $56,937, effective Jan. 8 pending required DOE background and fingerprint clearances. The council approved the appointment by roll-call vote; all voting members present supported the resolution.
Council members also approved a budget transfer to support immediate equipment needs for the new administrative assistant. The council moved $1,777.98 from the office-supplies line into an equipment line item to cover a computer tower and laptop; the transfer passed unanimously on a roll-call vote. Members discussed using remaining budget lines to increase member reimbursements and cover meeting expenses; the council said it will circulate a proposed reallocation for final approval at the next meeting.
Earlier in the meeting a motion to approve the previous month’s minutes was called and seconded and no objections were recorded as the meeting proceeded.
The council president reminded members that unused operating funds do not roll over and encouraged members to file reimbursement claims for internet, childcare or meeting-related expenses. The president also said the council would submit SCA top-five capital requests and asked members to send any remaining input to staff before the submission deadline.
Roll-call tallies and motions are recorded in the meeting minutes and were used to finalize the administrative appointment and equipment purchase this week.
