The Gulf County Board of County Commissioners adopted on second reading a small-scale amendment to the county comprehensive plan changing a 6.64-acre portion of a 16.64-acre parcel (parcel ID 02977-100R, Section 17, Township 7 South, Range 10 West) from agricultural to mixed commercial-residential.
Staff said the county’s Planning and Development Review Board heard the request on April 21 and the commission held an earlier hearing on April 20. The ordinance was read by title as a second reading and placed for consideration of adoption.
Commissioner Priton moved to approve the adoption and Commissioner Husband seconded. Commissioner Crane (identified in the meeting as having a family connection) abstained from the vote. The board recorded the motion as passing 4-0 with one abstention.
Staff identified the amendment as a Rafael-area parcel. The ordinance will take effect as provided under state law and county procedures for small-scale map amendments.
