The City of Montgomery City Council accepted a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the Villages of Montgomery, development number 2502, at its June 24 meeting.
Staff said the MOU covers roughly 54 acres and outlines a mix that includes 137 single-family units with a range of lot sizes. The MOU also references previously approved variances and notes that the developer will fund trunk pipeline, sewer and other infrastructure improvements.
A councilmember reiterated that there will be no roadway connection to College Street as shown in an incorrect exhibit and staff confirmed the signed agreement reflects no roadway connection. The council approved the MOU and directed staff to proceed with executing it and drafting the final development agreement.
Staff said the MOU triggers the formal development agreement process and that the developer will proceed with required infrastructure at its expense. The motion to accept the MOU carried by majority vote.
