The Broken Arrow Board of Education voted unanimously to approve three school administrative hires: Kinley Stanfield as assistant principal at Rhodes Elementary, Megan Adams as principal at Timber Ridge Elementary and Chase Jackson as associate principal of academics at Broken Arrow High School.
The Broken Arrow Board of Education on June 2 approved three administrative hires, appointing Kinley Stanfield as assistant principal at Rhodes Elementary, Megan Adams as principal at Timber Ridge Elementary and Chase Jackson as associate principal of academics at Broken Arrow High School.
Board members voted unanimously to approve the appointments during the meeting after brief introductions of the candidates and short remarks from district staff.
Miss Peterson, a district staff member who presented the two elementary hires, said, “She has been serving in the capacity of a counselor at Centennial Middle School,” when introducing Kinley Stanfield and cited Stanfield’s completion of the district’s aspiring administrators program. The board moved and seconded the motion to approve Stanfield; the roll call recorded yes votes from Doctor Williams, Mrs. Taylor, Doctor Roulette, Mr. Cockrell and Mr. Allen.
On the Timber Ridge appointment, the presenter said Megan Adams and her husband relocated to the area about a year ago and that Adams had served previously as a principal in San Francisco for roughly five to six years and earlier as a bilingual teacher who mentored new teachers. Adams introduced herself to the board and said she and her family have moved to Broken Arrow. The board approved her appointment by unanimous roll call.
For Broken Arrow High School, Mr. Sappington presented Chase Jackson’s candidacy, noting that Jackson has served five years as an assistant principal at the high school and previously taught history there. Sappington said Jackson is a “BA lifer,” having graduated from Broken Arrow High School. The board approved Jackson’s appointment by unanimous roll call.
All approvals were routine motions followed by roll-call votes; the record shows affirmative votes from each listed board member for each appointment. The district did not attach conditions to the approvals during the open meeting.
The board proceeded to other agenda items after the personnel approvals.
