The Village of Morton Grove Board of Trustees voted June 24 to create an ad hoc Dempster Corridor Plan Steering Committee and approved a membership roster drawn from trustees, commission chairs and commissioners.
The steering committee membership as announced includes: Village President (committee chair), Trustee Connie Travis, Trustee Asher Shiba, Village Clerk Eileen Scanlon Harford, Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals Chair Chris Kittner, Appearance Commission Chair John Petron, Economic Development Commission Chair Mark Fernandez, Environment and Natural Resources Commission Chair Georgianne Bruner, Community Relations Commission Chair Theresa Polyak, Plan Commission commissioners Matthew Ingram and Michael Stein, Traffic Safety Commission commissioners Robert Campanella and Christopher Sheehan, and Appearance Commission commissioner Lindsay Dahlberg. The board approved the committee by motion; Trustee Mink moved and Trustee Travis seconded the action. The board voted in favor 6-0.
Village staff described the committee as ad hoc and formed to guide discussion and develop a plan for Dempster Street. One trustee asked about membership and the motion was amended on the floor to add or clarify participants before the board took the final vote. No formal timeline or budget was recorded in the discussion; the steering committee will report back to the board as appropriate.
This action establishes the advisory body only; no specific design, funding or contractual authorizations were made at the June 24 meeting.
